Club History
Exclusive Elegance
Meadia Heights Golf Club has stood as a beacon of golfing excellence for more than 100 years. In 1922, Ulysses Grant Barr, the club’s original chairman, established the club with 237 founding members. Located on 154 acres of farmland south of Lancaster city, the club is named after the meadia flower, a type of primrose that grew on the hillsides of the club’s original acreage.
In the years since the club’s founding, we’ve planted tens of thousands of trees, continuously upgraded our facilities, and witnessed milestones like our 50th anniversary in 1972 and our recent Centennial Celebration in 2022. Meadia Heights members, past and current, have amassed an impressive competitive record, most notably PGA pro Jim Furyk, who honed his skills here in the 1980s.
Upon celebrating our Centennial in 2022, we looked back on a century of golfing tradition, and today, we anticipate many more years of excellence ahead.
